MWC vs BIG EAST

The defending Sugar Bowl Champion Utah Utes and the Pitt Panthers from the Big East have agreed to play a home-and-home non-conference matchup beginning in 2010.

Pitt will come to Rice-Eccles Stadium on September 11 2010. The Utes will travel to Pittsburgh on October 15, 2011.

Maybe former Pitt QB Tyler Palko can help the Panthers prep for the Utes. Palko was the starting QB the last time the two teams met in the 2005 Fiesta Bowl. Palko knows the grass in Tempe well as the Utes racked up a Fiesta Bowl record 9 sacks during the 35-7 shellacking. Here is to hoping for more of the same during the upcoming matchup.

This is a great opportunity for the Mountain West to play head-to-head against the Big East. With an Automatic Bid to the BCS up for grabs, and the Big East being the major competitor for the 6th and final spot, these two games are of utmost importance.

Credit goes to the Utes...Their 2010 Non-Conference schedule now includes both Pitt and Notre Dame.
