CAR CARE BOWL
SOUTH FLORIDA (7-5)
vs. CLEMSON (6-6)
Dec. 31 -- 10:00 am MT -- ESPN

ZACH
To be honest, I don't know why I am still predicting each of these bowl games. I went 1-3 yesterday and am wallowing in the cellar of my own Pick Em League. Anyway, Clemson seemingly had a better season. The Tigers lost all the usual heartbreakers you would expect them to. South Florida has shown signs of brilliance, but BJ Daniels hasn't lived up to the hype. Clemson wins on the strength of its superior defense. But, don't take that to Vegas. And if you do, bet the opposite.
WINNER: CLEMSON -- CONFIDENCE: 24

BRETT
Don't worry Zach.  You went 1-3 yesterday, I went 0-4, including my upset pick of Tennessee and my "most-confident" pick of Nebraska, who I gave 35 confidence points.  But pick we must!  Points-wise, each offense is almost identical, but Clemson does sport the better defense.
WINNER: CLEMSON -- CONFIDENCE: 17

DJ
Clemson is a gut. I feel good about their running game. Ok the real reason I picked Clemson is because I like their unis.
WINNER:  CLEMSON -- CONFIDENCE: 10

CLEMSON 65%

SUN BOWL
NOTRE DAME (7-5)
vs. MIAMI (7-5)
Dec. 31 -- 12:00 pm MT -- CBS

ZACH
CBSC was airing its "Classic College Football" program yesterday afternoon. Guess what was playing? The Sun Bowl, which saw Pitt beat Oregon State 3-0. Wow. Here's to hoping this one is a little better. For some reason, I like the Sun Bowl. The folks in El Paso are sure excited about it. I think Brian Kelly gets his first bowl victory for the Irish.
WINNER: NOTRE DAME -- CONFIDENCE: 9

BRETT
This is mostly a hunch like my Tennessee pick, this game is kind of a toss up.  Apparently Jacory Harris will play for the Canes, not sure if that is good or bad for them.  Miami is in coach limbo, but Notre Dame will be prepared to make a statement headed into next season by the fire of Brian Kelly.
WINNER: NOTRE DAME -- CONFIDENCE: 5

DJ
Notre Dame showed some good signs toward the end of the season and that is why I picked them. I have no idea how Miami will respond with the firing of Randy Shannon. They could come out and play amazing - liked they looked at points in the season, or they could come out and lay an egg. I picked ND because they seem to be more stable right now.
WINNER: NOTRE DAME -- CONFIDENCE: 4

Scott Albrecht's odds, from College Football By The Numbers:
MIAMI 51%

LIBERTY BOWL
GEORGIA (6-6) vs.
#25 CENTRAL FLORIDA (10-3)
Dec. 31 -- 1:30 pm MT -- ESPN

ZACH
This matchup will be a great barometer to the "Every mediocre AQ team would win 10 games in a non-AQ conference" argument. Georgia has been playing better football. I think the Dawgs will just grind away at the UCF offensive and defensive lines as the game wears on.
WINNER: GEORGIA -- CONFIDENCE: 11

BRETT
Another gut pick.  My brain tells me that Georgia is the better team, but I just like Jeffrey Godfrey, okay? The C-USA champs make a statement for the conference, who is 1-4 thus far in bowl games.
WINNER: UCF -- CONFIDENCE: 2

DJ
Georgia is a mess, but they were favored so I will lean with Vegas.
WINNER: GEORGIA -- CONFIDENCE: 5

GEORGIA 67%

CHIK-FIL-A BOWL
#20 SOUTH CAROLINA (9-4)
vs.  #23 FLORIDA STATE (9-4)
Dec. 31 -- 5:30 pm MT -- ESPN

ZACH
Ugh. I picked Florida State and I regret it. Too much Marcus Lattimore. The Gamecocks will pull away early in the second half. Game will look much like the ACC Title Game. Thankfully for USC, it won't look like the second half of the SEC Title Game.
WINNER: FLORIDA ST -- CONFIDENCE: 6

BRETT
I have second-guessed this pick a lot too.  I may have made this pick based on which  team I liked more.   Florida State has been pretty solid against the run this year.  But, I can also see this looking like the Oklahoma game for the Noles.  I expect great things from Christian Ponder in his final game.
WINNER: FLORIDA ST -- CONFIDENCE: 4

DJ
This will be a fun game. I have been right when I started leaning the other way on some of these games (ie Syracuse and NC State) and I am starting to lean towards the real USC. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Jimbo get FSU up to play for this game. FSU is another one of those teams that has looked great and terrible this year.
WINNER: FLORIDA ST -- CONFIDENCE: 6

Scott Albrecht's odds, from College Football By The Numbers:
FLORIDA STATE 51%
