Utah Utes running back Matt Asiata has been granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA after missing almost all of 2007 and 2009 seasons with leg injuries, ESPN.com's Graham Watson is reporting.
Asiata broke his leg in the season opener in 2007, and two years later blew out his knee in the fourth game of the 2009 season.
The running back had tallied 330 yards rushing in the first three games of 2009. Asiata contributed to Utah's undefeated 2008 campaign with 707 rushing yards on 146 carries.
