FootballPHDs: Utes have the right dose

The folks over at FootballPhDs have their Pac-12 review up. It will surely be the cause of some discussion. Utah is slated to finish at 11-1 in the regular season. FootballPhDs foresees the Utes beating both USC and BYU on the road in September. They have the Utes winning the Pac-12 South and facing off with Oregon in the inaugural Pac-12 Title Game.  By all intents and purposes, this would be the greatest possible scenario that fans of the Crimson could expect.

What do you think? Are the Utes primed for a run at the Pac-12 Title in their first season as members of the conference?

That's pretty high. The Pac10/12 has had much more parity than what the Utes and Ute fans are used to. I think they'll be competitive, but the scale of wins and losses has shifted from what was expected in the MWC. I expect them to be top 2 or 3 in the south, a win or two away from the Pac12 champtionship game.

I think that's a very reasonable assumption Clay. The Utes will certainly be competitive. Not playing Oregon AND Stanford during the regular season will improve Utah's position. I would have them around 9-3/8-4 by season's end.
