Editor's Note: After posting, Louisiana Tech's associate media relations director Patrick Walsh informed us that the all blues were a one-game special and the white pants at home are definitely the standard home uniform.

Zach: Too much of a good thing is a bad thing. La Tech gets positive marks for a old-school style look. There are simply too many stripes, and too many colors going on. Red, white, and blue is a great color combo, no question. But even it can be overused. The gigantic stripes on the pants and shoulders simply draw too much attention IMO. The all-blue look is the weakest. The use of all three colors separately, on the helmet, jersey, and pant give the best look.

John: We have a winner!  Of all the uniforms worn by non-AQ conference teams (not including Army and Navy), Louisiana Tech may have the best set other than Ohio University. Ohio U gets a slight nod because they don't mess around with alternates or monochrome pants, but if you look at them, Ohio U and La Tech share a lot of the same characteristics. I love the Bulldogs' use of stripes, on both the UCLA stripes on the shoulders and the pant stripes. Crisp, clean, straight lines. If you're going to do stripes, this is how to do them. The helmet is excellent. Love the Louisiana logo with the T overlay. The alternate is unnecessary (alternates are always unnecessary), though not egregious, and it would make a fine home uniform if they wanted to wear red all the time. The only really bad look is the road pants with the home jersey. I will never understand why so many teams think that it looks good to have the same color top and pants. Let it go. It's ugly. It only works with road jerseys, not home. Ditch that, ditch the alternate, and we're looking at straight A+s here.

DJ: Just too many colors and stripes being used, even though they are great colors. The helmet is super ugly. That needs to be trashed. I think one of the reasons I don't like the uniforms is because the stripes change colors between the top and the pants. Another reason is the helmets don't match well enough to the jerseys - except on the alternatives, and that's why I like the alts. If I were La Tech, I would use one of the colors as accents and not try to make the uniforms have an equal amount of red, blue, and white. Overall, stick with your alts La Tech.

Brett: The helmet is great. It still looks terrible to go same color top and pants at home. All whites on the road are nice, not all blues at home. This blue top-blue pants set looks like a bad baseball uni from the ‘70s. The home uni with white pants is beyond solid. Great look. I don’t like the road uni as much because the pants and helmet are not the same color and it looks to clownish, you might say. Colored pants on the road look best if they match the helmet, and since red is not the primary color, I’d go with white pants. The road alternates look great to me. I wouldn’t wear them all the time, but for a special occasion, I think they’re great.

  1. Louisiana Tech never wears blue on blue! Do some research. Haven't done it since the early 2000s.
