New football uniforms for Wyoming

If you haven't heard, Wyoming slightly revamped its football look for the upcoming season. The changes are slight but will add more diversity to the Cowboys' options.

The alternate helmets, which feature the cowboy silhouette in yellow instead of brown, and also has two short, pointy, yellow stripes on the front, will be used more often. The white away jerseys have been changed to match the design of the alternate yellow "WYO" jerseys.

Wyoming is also adding a third helmet to its repertoire, a rough-matte brown with the cowboy silhouette in shiny brown (similar to the pro combat helmets we saw last year from Virginia Tech and West Virginia).

A few thoughts: I really like the alternate yellow-cowboy helmet, but the short-double-pointy stripe thing is dumb. A standard yellow stripe would be better. As for the brown helmet: by itself, I actually really, really like it. With uniforms, it should ONLY be worn with the white tops and brown pants--perhaps with the yellow tops and brown pants as well. Anything else will look stupid with the brown helmet.

As you can see by this photo below in which the players have helmets on, they seem to be planning on wearing the brown helmets with brown tops and brown pants. TRRBLE.

Not only is it terrible in general, but if you look closely, the shades (or at least finishes) on each brown piece is different from the next. None of the browns on the all-brown look are the same.

Stick with the brown helmets on the white away uniforms like pictured below, and you'll be good Wyoming.
