The Rate That Uni Big Sky Tour takes its next stop in Pocatello to visit Idaho State. The Bengals have struggled on the field for quite a while ... but do they at least look good?

Brett: The helmet is solid. Idaho State has been through many helmet designs over the years, but I like the white lid with the interlocked I-S. It’s unique. One might say the Bengals’ uniforms are plain, but I like that about them. Instead of shooting for a “modern” template knockoff from a big school (orange uniform aside), they keep the look simple and their own. Wear the white pants at home, please. Folks, if you want to know how to do uniforms, check out the non-Boise schools of Idaho and Idaho State. They’ve got it down.

John: Idaho State looks best when it looks like Virginia Tech - specifically the white on white road jerseys. I like the overall look of the road uniforms. In fact, the road sets both look really good. The home sets leave something to be desired. I'm not sure exactly why, considering it's the same template with the UCLA stripes, but I just don't like the look of the black jersey. And yes, I realize black is one of ISU's school colors, so this isn't a black-for-blacks' sake deduction. I especially dislike the black on black. Yes, I realize that I'm saying that the white on white looks great and the black on black looks terrible. Just one of those things. As for the alternate, it's the old Miami wrap around Nike template. It didn't look good on Miami, and it really doesn't look good on Idaho State.

Zach: The Idaho State Bengals haven't had much to cheer about, in either football or basketball, for quite some time. The uniforms they produce on the football side, however, are above average. The generic number pattern is a bit off-putting. I like the shoulder sleeves and the use of the white helmet. Not so hot on the black-black home uniform. Although I give props for the refusing to put stripes or other unnecessary markings on the pants. I like black-and-orange for a color scheme, and I give credit to Idaho State for not going the Cincinnati Bengals route and totally overusing the Bengal meme. I like the IS helmet logo. The orange-black uniform looks nice with the white helmet.
