John: There's something about Oregon State 's pants that really bugs me. If you look just from the waist up, their uniforms really aren't that bad. Pretty simple design, distinctive looking without being garish. But the pants is where they lose me. Why go with the solid top, only to muck it up with the strange stripes on the pants of various width and curviness? And as always, the monocrhome uniform at home is never a good look. Finally, the helmets aren't terrible, but the "Beavers" wordmark is complete superfluous given, you know, the huge beaver on the side of the helmet. Why write out "Beavers" under what is obvious to anyone as a beaver? What, we're going to mistake Oregon State for the woodchucks?
Brett: Agree with my colleagues on the helmet. Not usually a fan of words underneath a logo on a helmet. I think the orange alternates with white pants work very, very well, better than the black unis at home. The Beavers’ design on the road works better with the black pants as well. Overall an okay set, but could improve the pants stripe and helmet.
Zach: I love the black-and-orange color scheme. I think the Beavers do an admirable job at keeping things mininalistic. I like the all-white road with the black helmet. Looks sharp. Not a fan of the monochrome home uniform. Too much black. The orange look is interesting, and I don't think it's a bad alternate, actually. The helmet has too much going on in the logo area. Decide. Do you want a Beaver logo or the Beaver script? Much like Boise State , potential branding advantage gets lost in the commotion.
